Yes I already know. I am a terrible blogger. Bryan and I got to go on one of the most unbelievable vacation in October. We had decided earlier in the year to go on a cruise with my brother in law and sister. We had no idea what to expect. Not only was this a cruise it was a KISS Kruise-as in the band KISS. We had an awesome time. This is us the day before the day in South Beach Miami. This is where ourc ruise ship departed going to Nassau, Bahamas and back.

We went to this bar that was having a pre party for the Kiss cruisers and people were already getting their faces painted. It was incredible.

Galveston Beach 2011

Took the kids to Galveston Beach this summer and it turned out to be a great vacation. We rented a small beach house on Jamaica Beach, and it was great. I knew it would be ocean front, but I could not have anticipated how perfect it was. The weather was great. The nights were almost cool with the nice breeze off the ocean. We spent most of the time on the beach looking for treasures. We went to Kemah Boardwalk one day, and it was really nice. It is just a place to eat good food, and let your family enjoy some fun rides. We also went to Moody Gardens one day, and it was great. It is great for younger kids. Had an awesome time, and won't ever forget it. I can't wait to go on our Kiss Kruise in October. Gene Simmons watch out.

Bryan suprised me at work Tuesday the 2nd with Roses, and they are beautiful.

We went to go eat lunch and he had all kinds of gifts for me. He bought this beautiful necklace, some foot lotion that I love, and he got a picture frame and put pictures of me and him from the past 10 years. He is the most amazing and thoughtful man I know. I love you Bryan!

The roses bloomed out today and they are humongous and smell wonderful.

This is one of my favorite's because Lillian (Amy & Jr.'s daughter) and Aubrey were rakeing up the little prickly seeds that fall off of sweet gum trees, and Lillian was calling them the "pricks". Everyone got a good laugh out of it.

I know, I know, I know. It's been too long. I tell ya once you quit blogging it's hard to get started back. I enjoy blogging, but I see a lot of people starting to quit these days, and it's hard to get motivated back to doing it again. So anyways heres my first post in a while. Bryan finally got a buck on our land, and I couldn't be happier. He has been trying to pick out the right one, and he finally got one of the ones he was waiting for. I love ya babe! Way to go!

Finally a true story!

Here's a picture of the new world record whitetail. It was taken by the cousin of a co-worker's sister's, uncle's, best friend's, son-in-law's, niece's hairdresser's, neighbor's ex-boyfriend's oldest nephew. Reportedly it will score 2603-1/8 by B&C standard and was shot in West Texas on a really windy day, 85 degrees downhill, around a curve at 900 yards with a 22 mag. supposedly, this deer had killed a Brahma bull, two Land Rovers and six Jehovah's Witnesses in the last two weeks alone. They said it was winning a fight with Bigfoot when it was shot. It had also been confirmed that the buck had been seen drinking discharge water from a nuclear power plant. This has been checked on Snopes who confirmed it. Honest!!!

I love how dorky the guy in the picture looks.

If you are married to a deer hunter or any other kind of hunter I am sure you have gotten to hear the occasional (I'll just call it B.S.) story from someone about someone's cousin who shot the biggest, or the strangest looking deer. This one made me laugh out loud mocking all those stories.

Baked Ravioli

1 bag (25 Oz. Bag) Frozen Ravioli
1 jar (26 Oz. Jar) Marinara Sauce
2 cups Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
Parmesan Cheese, For Sprinkling
Preparation Instructions
Heat oven to 400°F. Spray bottom and sides of a 9×13 rectangular baking dish with cooking spray.
Spread 3/4 cup of the pasta sauce in baking dish. Arrange half of the frozen ravioli in a single layer over the sauce; top with half of the remaining pasta sauce and half of the mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers once, starting with ravioli. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil; bake uncovered for 10 to 15 minutes longer or until bubbly and hot in the center. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.

This sounds super easy, and super yummy.

The one thing I missed about our house in town is that we had this beautiful Hydrangea as you walked doen the steps on the front porch, and when it started blooming I would have people stop and ask to cut flowers off of it, and I always let them. I had one lady tell me she use to live in our old house when she was young and she remembered the Hydrangea being there even then. Now I am lucky enough to have these shrubs on the back side of our house.

We decided to get this horse trough from mom and dads. This trough has been in our family for at least 35 years. Me and my 2 sisters swam in it for years growing up, and now the kids get to do the same. I ddi paint the inside so it looks a lot better, but since the other day the paint has already peeled off. I have got to find some better paint. The kids absolutley love it, and it is sooo easy to clean out. Thanks Granny and Papa.

Mom and Dad came over and took the kids home with them and we decided to check out the fish in our pond. We took our little boat out, and I will have to say I probably caught more bass, but Bryan probably caught the bigger ones. We had a good time. Love ya babe. He is going to die when he sees this.

We got a donkey a couple of weeks ago, and we have loved him ever since. Aubrey absolutely loves him. We got him to keep with the goats because they are supposed to protect your goats from predators. We have a major problem with coyotes, and luckily we haven't lost any goats to them, but they are brave and are around our front yard pretty often. His name is Larry. I call him Larry the cable guy. He is such a good boy. We try to go out and give him an apple and brush pretty regularly. Aubrey and I walked him the other night and he is a little stubborn, but not anything we can't fix. As soon as I took his lead off he took off and bucked a couple of times and Aubrey just thought it was the funniest thing. He acted like we had just had such control over him that he felt freedom as soon as I let him go.

I don't know why, but the goats love laying where we had big brush pile we burnt a couple weeks ago.

This is my Nanny. Literally I have about 20 nannies, but this one is my favorite and her name is Nanny because she was my first one, and she is the friendliest one. She come up to me and wants to be pet everyday. Now she is the nicest to us, but she is my dominant female and is the least friendliest with the rest of the girls and boys. If your wondering about the collar on her. Some of them are lead broke so we can walk them if we need to. If you click on the pic it will make it bigger so you can see her babies upper lip. The males do this for some reason, and it is the funniest thing.

My favorite Knife

If you have ever wanted a really good chopping knife, but didn't want to spend a fortune this is the knife for you. I bought mine 2 years ago, and loved it right away. I went into http://www.distinctive-decor.com/ a new shop that opened in Duncan and couldn't believe how wonderful this place was. So many gadgets, and upscale products that you usually have to order. I told the guy I wanted a good knife to chop with and he took me right to the ceramic knives. I had never heard of ceramic knives. He took me over to his kitchen. Yes there is a small kitchen in the store with a counter top people can sit around or sample foods on. He got out a tomato out of the fridge and had me use the knife. He actually showed me how to properly hold it, and how to chop like the chefs on tv do. I even got one of my friends to buy one. I bought one for my mom for Christmas 2 years ago, and my sister got one a year ago. They all rave. My brother works for a restaurant supply company in Houston and he even loves it. The 5.5" Santoku which is the one shown runs $79.95, and I know you may think it is pricey, but I am telling you this is the best knife I have ever owned, and it also has a lifetime warranty, and when it gets dull (mine hasn't yet) you send it back to the company and they sharpen or replace it for you. They also make other sizes, and paring knives which will be my next purchase. 5 stars *****

If you haven't seen it yet. I highly recommend it. I took Aubrey, my mom, and my niece, and we were glued the entire time. You have to see it in 3D. The story line is amazing. The graphics are like something you would see in a dream. This was my first 3D experience, and now I will try to see as many 3D movies as I can. Awesome.

It made me sick yesterday when I heard Corey Haim had died. I know he had lots of problems. It just kind of makes you think how could anyone get that bad. It seems like to me a lot of people probably wrote him off. I will always remember him from his movies in the 80's. I can't tell you how many times I watched Silver Bullet, Lucas, Lost Boys, & License to Drive. I will always remember those movies being some of my favorites.

This is my new favorite show. I was watching Pawn Stars every time it was on, but now that this show follows Pawn Stars we are glued to the T.V. on Monday nights. I have both shows DVR'ed so we never miss them. Love watching these guys dig through other peoples old barns, houses, and junk yards looking for rusted treasures. This is one of my favorite Enchilada recipes.

It comes off of the can of Old El Paso green chile enchilada sauce.

Ingredients
1 lb. Uncooked Chicken Breasts Strips
1 pkg. Cream Cheese (8 oz)
1 can Old El Paso chopped Green Chilies (4.5 oz)
1 pkg. Flour Tortillas (12 count)
2 cans Old El Paso Green Chile Enchilada Sauce (10 oz each)
1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese

Preparation
Heat your oven to 400 degrees. Lightly grease and 13x9x2 baking dish.
In a large skillet cook chicken until no longer pink. Shred the chicken so that it has a stringy texture and there are no large chucks, then place chicken back in to skillet. Add the cream cheese and chopped green chilies, and cook over medium heat until all ingredients are combined well and the cream cheese is melted.
Spoon the chicken filling it to the tortillas. Roll up the tortilla and place it in the pan seam side down. Repeat this step for the other 11 tortillas. Next pour the green chile enchilada sauce over the top and sprinkle with cheese.
Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until hot and the cheese is completely melted.

Pulled Pork

Simple Fantastic Recipe

Ingredients
1 pork butt
1 2 liter bottle of Root Beer
BBQ Sauce

Hamburger Buns

Directions
Place the pork in a slow cooker; pour the root beer over the meat. I left about an inch from the top of the meat. Cover and cook on low until well cooked and the pork shreds easily. I cooked all night long. Note: the actual length of time may vary according to individual slow cooker. Drain well. Shred meat. Stir in barbecue sauce. Serve over hamburger buns.

Potato Skins

Little Time consuming cooked the potatoes and scooped them out the night before.

Ingredients

10 baking potatoes

shredded cheddar

1 package bacon

chives or green onions

vegetable oil

Bake the potatoes on 400 until done. Cool them and cut into 2 the long ways. Scoope out the potatoes until there is about a 1/4 of the potatoe left. This is where I put them in the fridge over night to finish the next day. If you want to go ahead and make them. Next I put a couple of tbsp of veg oil in a bowl and brushed the insides and outsides of the potatoes and put them on a cookie sheet then salted them. I put them back in the oven for 5-10 minutes on 400 to slightly brown them and it makes them a little more crispier. I took them out and cooked the bacon and let it completely cool and chop finely. I added the bacon to each potato half and then added the shredded cheese. I put it back in the oven for a couple of minutes just to let the cheese melt. Took out and chopped up the green onion and added to the potatoes. You can add sour cream if you want.

Sopapilla Cheesecake

Easy & really good

Ingredients
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 (8 ounce) packages refrigerated crescent rolls
1/2 cup melted butter
1/2 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Directions
Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Prepare a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray.
Beat the cream cheese with 1 cup of sugar and the vanilla extract in a bowl until smooth; set aside.
Unroll the cans of crescent roll dough, and use a rolling pin to shape each sheet into 9x13 inch rectangles. Press one sheet into the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Evenly spread the cream cheese mixture into the baking dish, then cover with the remaining piece of crescent dough, and brush with melted butter. Stir together 1/2 cup of sugar with the cinnamon in a small bowl, and sprinkle evenly over the top of the cheesecake.
Bake in the preheated oven until the crescent dough has puffed and turned golden brown, about 30 minutes. Allow to cool 10 minutes before serving.

Laundry and the Devil

Do you have any idea how much laundry you would have to do if it piled up for a week? Well do you want to guess what I have been doing for the past two nights. This past week has been such a test to how patient I can be. Sometime I just wish I could be a stay at home mom, and actually have a clean home everyday. No nevermind, I don't want to be a stay at home mom. Maybe if I could call Merry Maids and they could come twice a month. Bryan really tested me a couple of nights ago. I asked him to go get the food we put in ice chests outside (so it wouldn't ruin) and put back in the fridge. You know what he said? This one blew me away. Mine you he was laying down watching Sports Center. His response was "That's not my department." If you know me you know you can probably guess how I reacted since some people use to refer to me as Hot-Head Harvey. I actually was so shocked I didn't say anything, but I gave him the most deadliest look I could possibly give. I know he saw horns forming from my forehead and smoke coming out of my ears. I was so mad inside, and so proud I didn't say anything. I knew immediately I looked scary because he looked at me and got up and took care of it. I wish this worked all the time.

We have electricity. It came back on last night about 6:00. It has been a week since the lights went out. It is amazing how much more at ease I feel now.

Ice Storm

This has been by far the worse winter I have ever seen, and I here it isn't over. The ice storm hit us really hard. We haven't had electricity since last Thursday, and I hear we may not have power until Friday. Even worse I hear there may be another storm on it's way. Thursday the power went off at work about 3 and we went home we didn't have any power so we built a warm fire in our new wood burning stove we put in this fall (thank goodness). Bryan, I and the kids spent the evening and Friday morning huddled up just trying to keep warm and trying to keep the kids occupied. We decided to leave and head for Fort Worth to Bryan's parents. We enjoyed the electricity for a couple of days. Then we decided we better get prepared to head back home. So I got on the Internet and looked for a generator. There is like a million different kinds of generators. Big, small, expensive, even more expensive, portable, and standby. Your gonna spend at least 500 dollars. I finally decided to get on Craigs List and look and we got really lucky the first and only add I called he had a big 8000 watt generator with a Briggs & Stratton motor only 2 years old for 600 dollars we really lucked out. It was in Burleson only 30 minutes away. So Bryan and his dad headed over there Sunday morning and picked it up. I went to Target and stocked up on bottled water, canned foods, and stuff we were gonna need. So we got home Sunday evening and set up. Everything has worked out not great, but okay. We got tv and dish, we have our fridge and deep freeze going. Thank goodness nothing defrosted while we were gone in the deep freeze. Now the fridges freezer that is another story it thawed out and I opened it when we got home and it stunk so I shut it real quick and we turned it on so whatever stunk has refroze and hopefully the smell won't be as bad when we can start throwing it all out. Luckily when we left I took everything out of the fridge that would ruin and I put it in an ice chest outside and it all stayed cold. Well we are back at work today and it seems a little weird, but hopefully the worse of it is gone. When we left Friday we saw over 20 electric poles snapped in 2 on the highway, and when leaving the house and driving on our rode we actually drove over the wires from a pole laying across the road. It is really devastating seeing all the poles down and knowing there are so many people that don't have anyone to help look after them, or wonder if anyone even knows they are there. Hopefully everyone will stay safe and keep warm.

RIP-The tree killer!!!

Our poor old ugly billy goat has died and gone to goat heaven. I never really liked the fella, but when he died I was actually a little sad since it was kind of unexpected. He had a wonderful life. No male competition, loved the ladies, and had an endless supply of food. He used the bathroom wherever he felt the urge and banged his head up against any tree strong enough to withstand the beating. He did kill some pine trees that I loved. Oh yeah he killed my apple and peach trees I planted last year. I guess I don't miss him that much. Now I am getting angry thinking about those trees. I will have to say watching him get his horns between Bryan's legs and watching Bryan jump around was the one of the funniest things I will remember about him. Now I don't have to watch the kids when they get in the goat pen. When before I always had to keep my eye on that goat because he would unexpectedly butt you. I guess he will be replaced. He does have a son that will carry on his legacy, but that will be 2 years before he is ready. So I guess we will have to go find another. Hopefully the next one won't be such a tree killer.

We had quite the exciting evening at the Marlow High School Gym. Aubrey had taken a dance clinic with the high School Bootleggers (for all of you that don't know what this is it is like Pom girls at other schools our mascot is the Outlaws so go figure we have Bootleggers as our dancers) last Saturday and learned a dance to Miley Cyrus' Party in the USA and they performed it last night at half time of the boys basketball game. It went really well and we even got to see a girl start doing the worm at the end of it. She had everyone laughing hysterically. It was a great show, and the kids really enjoyed themselves.

Amy got to join us for the weekend. We had a Birthday party for my Grandma on Saturday. On Sunday we decided to go ahead and let the kids open their presents from Amy since she wasn't going to be here on Christmas. We had a good visit, and I guess it will be our turn next to go to Houston. It will have to be summer since she has a wonderful pool and it keeps the kids entertained for hours. Especially since Jackson would be like a tornado through her house.

We had such a fun Halloween this year. We all dressed up I was a witch and Bryan was Jason. Aubrey just wanted to be something scary so I just copied her makeup off of one of the people on the makeup kit. Jackson was Dracula which turned out way better than I thought it would. We took the kids to a few places we knew and then took them out to Mom and Dad's. My mom and dad own some land next to them that is full of trees and they have made four wheeler trails through them so mom decided to hang scary people all through the trails I think she had 10 or 12 total. She also carved pumpkins and had them lit out there and she got some scary Halloween music and had it playing on a boom box out in the woods. Needless to say the kids got the crap scared out of them and it turned out great.

Can't wait to see everyone this weekend!

I have always told Aubrey to stay away from these things, but boy did we have a scare yesterday. Chrisie, Faron, and Cole, Andy and Julie and our family had a great day we had gone to Chrisie's brothers and had a shrimp boil. I had taken Jackson home cause he was the crankiest baby in the world, and everyone was going to come over. Well after everyone showed up the guys went down to the pond and took Cole and Aubrey down there while Jackson was in his bed screaming his head off because it was time for a nap. When they came back Faron had asked me about Aubrey having poison ivy on her arms, and that she was complaining because she was itching. He said when they went down to the pond she had rode the motorcycle with her dad and her foot hit a bull nettle and she wanted to ride the four wheeler with him back. About 10 minutes after they got back to the house she broke out from head to toe with a horrible looking rash-hives-thing. She had 4-5 inch whelps on her rear and her legs, and her ears swelled up, her foot was swollen. It was down right scary. So Chrisie and I decided to put her in the tub with some Oatmeal. I don't know we just knew it does something that stops the itch or something. My mom always did it to my sister that got poison ivy. Chrisie was the life saver though. She had Benedryl in her bag for Cole. I will always have Benedryl in my house from now on. We gave her a couple of doses and about an hour later she was feeling better and wanting to go outside. This was actually really pretty scary. I stayed pretty calm, but inside I was sick with worry. I had called my mom and told her what was going on she had came over and reassured me that we didn't need to rush to the emergency room yet. She said just wait and give the Benedryl time to do it's thing first. Thank God for good friends and Benedryl. Now looking back it is kind of funny we all went into this really quiet calm mode where you knew everyone was worried, but everyone kept their cool about it. Julie told me later she was like "Oh man I would have been at the emergency room a long time ago, and all of yall were all calm about it and like not panicking". It was scary and I hope it doesn't happen again, but there is a good chance it will. I know things will happen especially when you live in the country, but this gave me a wake up call and made me realize I may need to take a better look at my medicine cabinet.

This is what we brought home from the World's Largest Garage Sale along with some other finds. Aubrey has been asking for a four wheeler for the last couple of months and I found this one at a garage sale. She asks us every night to drive it. She is getting really good a driving, but I always get this knot in my stomache everytime she gets on it by herself. I will always worry, and now I know what I put my mother through. I remember the first time my dad let me mow with the push mower and my mom came screaming out of the house "she'll cut her foot off". We can laugh about it now, but it's my turn to feel that same way.

South Dakota

So Bryan and Aubrey had their first father-daughter trip. They went to South Dakota for almost a week with his parents. The whole reason behind the trip is because Bryan and his Dad wanted to go the hike up to Crazy Horse which is the big Indian head you see in the pictures. They only open it up for 1 weekend a year and it is a 6 mile hike. We decided Aubrey would want to go to Mount Rushmore and some other places there so his mom decided to go. I really didn't feel Jackson was old enough for a 16-17 hr car ride, and I don't think he would of made it out of Oklahoma before getting restless wait maybe even made it out of Marlow. Anyways looks like they had a great time and Aubrey got to see the presidents her favorite of course is Abraham Lincoln and she could tell you all kinds of history about him. They went to Needles-Sturgis-Badlands-Deadwood-Wall Drug Store-Evans Plunge Water Park-Mount Rushmore-Crazy Horse. I really think she won't ever forget this trip.

Since we had heavy rain beggining last weekand ending 2 nights ago our pond finally got the water it desperately needed it was probably close to 10 foot down before the rain and now it is running over. Thank goodness. Bryan enjoyed the runoff.

My first snake experience at the new house.

I usually hate snakes. As a matter of fact I usually flip out when I see them, and sometimes I am dangerous to be around when I see one, but I was so proud of how I handled this one. I was checking on the goats yesterday and I had noticed up by the house this really pretty yellow flower and I thought I would go check it out to see what kind of flower it was. When I got back from checking on the goats I rode the four wheeler up to the house and laying on the ground right next to it was this snake. So what do I do. Go get the shovel. The only thing going through my ind is Aubrey and Jackson playing in the yard and this thing getting in one of their buckets or Jackson stepping on it or something. So anyways this all happened about 1 or 2 in the afternoon. I was off work and Bryan was at work. So I take the shovel over there and try stabbing the thing and goes into this bush. So I decided to leave it alone. So when Bryan got off work I kind of forgot about it, and then realized it may still be in that bush. So he went over there and there was a piece of tin on the ground and he lifted up the tin and said yeap there it is. So we decided to catch the thing and I had Mom look it up on the Internet to see what kind of snake it was. So we found out it was a harmless garter snake with supper in it's belly. I think it was eating the lizards (we have millions of lizards see pic from an older post). Anyways dad told us to let it go because it eats mice and small critters. So we did. I use to think the only good snake was a dead snake, but I think this helped with my fears. Oh by the way it was a Garter Snake very common in Oklahoma, and non venomous.

We have 7 new goats we bought this weekend. We have so much for them to eat down so hopefully we will start seeing some areas that are totally wooded. We have a billy goat that is so funny I will post more pics this week. I love watching them butt each other it is the funniest thing. The kids just love watching them.
